Children birthdays are celebrated in Montessori style. Our students gather in a circle, and the birthday boy or girl stands in the middle of the circle where there is a candle, representing the sun; while we sing happy birthday in different languages the child will walk around the ‘sun’ as many times as the age s/he is reaching. 
 

BIRTHDAY BOOK  
We do not allow party bags; however, we would like to introduce a volunteer system of donating a book to the class for your child’s birthday. This book could be in their home language or not, and it could be whatever book your child would like to share with the rest of the class. We would then read it, talk about it and keep it nicely in our classroom library.

This is completely voluntary but an initiative we would love to get off the ground.  
 

BIRTHDAY CAKE
Parents can order a homemade cake that we will prepare at school. There will be a small contribution for that. Please ask for more details to the school Director if interested.
